ABOUT

Dang interesting articles and brilliant infographics connecting innovation and science to the world!

WHAT'S TO LOVE

Big ideas is a National Geographic series of about twenty articles that look at big world problems and possible solutions. They are visual and fascinating; a great way to get kids thinking about real world problem solving and to read more non-fiction. Articles range from Organ Regeneration, to Making Mars Home to How to Fuel Electric Cars? The infographics included with most articles are powerful and smart and helping kids learn how to interpret infographics and envision themselves as problem solvers is a totally Minds-On.

HEADS UP

There are no lessons attached to these articles, but the conversation generated, whether in the classroom or at the dinner table, is worthwhile. These are a great springboard to replace ho-hum writing assignments.
