Helping Make the Next-Generation of Coders!
WHAT'S TO LOVE
We need more coders! CoderDojo is a grass roots computer programing group run by volunteers who help kids 7-17 learn computer programming. Each dojo is independently run. A quick search on the CoderDojo site will indicate groups and meeting times in your area. While programming projects vary to some degree based on volunteer mentor expertise, interested kids can typically learn how to design webpages, make apps and work with robotics, Raspberry Pi and Arduino platforms. This is a great way to inspire kids to create and not just consume technology.
This is a loosely organized program. Check with your local Dojo to understand their process and offerings. Much of the programming is driven by the kids interest and mentor expertise, so it's best for kids that are excited to learn about computers and programming. In some cases parents are required to stay with their children during the Dojo sessions.
